Kitsune is such a special part of our family and suits us perfectly. We love her very much. Kitsune is such a sweet girl. Quite timid, but also loves adventures. Anytime we go outside she is at her happiest, especially if we’re out on a new trail of a long hike. 

She’s so good at playing with other dogs. When we’re playing with smaller pups she plays so gentle, but isn’t afraid to wrestle and play fight with rougher dogs too.  She struggles with not thinking that every dog wants to play and say hello, so she can be a bit (friendly) rude when she meets other dogs when we’re out on walks, so we always keep her leashes outside.  

She’s still very shy about meeting new people. Our family are the only ones who have been able to pet her, even after the many times she’s met our friends, but she’s starting to recognize that they’re okay and sniff them and get closer to them. She doesn’t like too much cuddling. She will lay beside me for some tummy rubs, but when she’s had enough she’ll move farther away. This sweet girl will follow me around the house from room to room all day. 

Kit hasn’t learned how to enjoy water yet, bath time will take her a couple days to forgive us. When we were at the ocean or the river though, she will plunge her head right under to look for shells and sticks. We did progress up yo having her on the boat, the canoe, and eventually the paddleboard at the end of summer. 

She loves our cat, and can often be found sleeping near her. Despite her always being up for an adventure, she’s perfect at being able to settle down and relax at home, and loves her long naps too.

Before the weather got too cold we were learning canicross together, where we run together but she is in a towing harness. Eventually, we would like to teach her to skijor (run in the harness with us on skis) once she’s less timid of the skis.

튼튼이는 정말 특별하고 완벽한 우리 가족의 일부예요. 우리는 튼튼이를 정말 많이 사랑한답니다. 튼튼이는 정말 착한 아이예요. 소심하기는 하지만 모험을 즐겨요. 밖에 데리고 나갈 때면 언제나 가장 행복한 상태가 되어요. 특히 장거리 하이킹을 갈 때면요.

튼튼이는 다른 개들하고도 아주 잘 놀아요. 몸집이 더 작은 친구들하고는 얌전하게 잘 놀아요. 거칠게 노는 친구들하고 레슬링하는 것도 두려워하지 않아요. 모든 개가 같이 놀고 인사하고 싶어 하는 건 아니라는 사실을 받아들이지 않으려고 해요. 그래서 산책 중에 다른 개를 만나면 매너 없이 들이대기도 해요. 그래서 밖에서는 항상 리쉬를 착용해요.

새로운 사람을 만날 때는 여전히 낯가림이 있어요. 우리 가족을 제외하면 튼튼이는 만지는 걸 허락하지 않아요. 저희 친구들을 아주 여러 번 보았지만 만지게 해주지는 않아요. 아주 조금씩 알아보고 냄새 맡고 다가가고 있기는 하지만요. 튼튼이는 몸을 부대끼는 걸 썩 좋아하지는 않아요. 제 옆에 누워서 배를 만져달라고 하기는 하지만 조금 지나면 가버려요. 집에 있을 때는 온종일 그림자처럼 저를 따라다녀요.

튼튼이는 아직 물을 좋아하지는 않아요. 목욕을 시키면 이틀 정도 삐져 있답니다. 바다나 강에 데리고 가면 물속에 머리를 처박고 조개나 나뭇가지를 찾아요. 배와 카누를 타는 법을 배웠고 여름이 끝날 때쯤에는 서핑 보드에 타는 법도 배웠어요.

튼튼이는 고양이도 좋아해요. 종종 고양이 옆에서 자곤 해요. 모험심이 가득한 튼튼이지만, 집에서는 아주 얌전해요. 긴 낮잠을 즐기기도 하구요.

날씨가 추워지기 전에는 사람과 함께 달리는 운동인 캐니크로스도 배웠어요. (튼튼이는 전용 하네스를 착용한 채로요). 나중에 튼튼이가 스키를 덜 무서워하게 되면, 스키를 신고 달리는 사람과 함께 달리는 운동인 스키조도 가르쳐주고 싶어요.
