With the present state of regulations we are all trying our best to keep safe but at this time of the year it is certainly a bit depressing having to keep away from family over Christmas but on the other hand we now have two doggies that keep us upbeat and busy.
Cant quite believe its been two months already since Woolly and Silky joined our family. My daughter and family in Delta have been wanting to meet with them but due to the present circumstances have not made the trip over for a visit. We are hoping things will get better in the near future with a happier 2021 for one and all.
Both doggies are doing extremely well. Silky now has the run of the property but we have to keep an eye on her as she is all about trying to visit the neighbours dogs and chase the deer that wander behind the back of our property. We have not yet enrolled her into Doggie Daycare as it then exposes us to the possibility of contracting Covid and since my husband has diabetes, he could get compromised. We are hoping come Spring that we will be able to have her socialize with other dogs a couple of days in the week. We are presently in the process of re-fencing our property as you can see from some of the pictures where Silky has been checking out the chain link fence we have just installed between our neighbour and ourselves. She is a bright, happy and active doggie constantly on the go. Woolly on the other hand is a housebound fixture and happiest lying near your feet and getting petted. Silky gets on well with other dogs and is always happy to greet them. Woolly on the other hand prefers people and does not seem to like active bouncy dogs especially younger ones and can at times become a grouchy old man. We still walk them on a leash and prefer to find trails that are wider so we can avoid getting too close to other dogs where Woolly is concerned. We are also pleased to let you know that the skin irritation that Woolly was experiencing has all subsided and no more scabs have been found under his coat.
Here's wishing you and all of your volunteers and families a Merry Christmas and hoping for the very best in the New Year 2021.
