Help Wanted

Notice from International Cooperation Department of AFK

As most of you many understand very well, one of the most serious problems AFK chronically faces is the lack of human resources and International Cooperation Department (hereinafter referred as ICD) is not an exception.

ICD has been barely managed by one person for more than a year but the time has finally come when we are in desperate need of someone else\'s help pretty soon. It\'ll be at the earliest late September through late November. During this period, the ICD work will be literally paralyzed. (I\'m having a maternity leave.-_-;;)

We\'re not just asking for a temporal assistance though but hoping to be able to utilize your service when necessary in the future. The amount of work and time consumed are not clear due to the characteristic of the job but there\'ll be more to do when our English website is open soon. (We\'re working on it at the moment.) The job description will not be so much different from as follows;

1. E mail correspondence - written translation (English ↔ Korean) and report to the President.
2. Update news from overseas NGOs (English → Korean)
3. English website management / updating (Korean → English)
4. Verbal interpreting at meetings/seminars with foreign NGOs (English↔Korean/ verbal)

Most of the work is written translation that can be done remotely, which means you can help us at home ^^ but we might need your presence at the office or other venues if necessary.

Due to the system of our organization which is totally dependent on the volunteers, it\'s not always easy to get the right people for the job but we need someone who cares about animals and wants to do something for AFK with a view to contribute to the animal welfare of this country with enthusiasm and responsibility. We have asked several volunteers for some written translation before but didn\'t get the satisfactory result.

Working as a volunteer is not just your entertaining hobby you can do in your pastime. You might have to give up a little part of your life. There might be some sacrifice from your viewpoint. It won\'t be entertaining at all unless you think what you\'re doing is for your own good. Otherwise you won\'t find any value out of working for AFK when you\'re providing expensive labor for nothing putting so much time in it.

We are not just looking for a top level interpreter but a responsible volunteer with a warm heart who is ready to try and help. Besides, the more, the merrier. ♪
